�A Winchester man has been indicted for first-degree murder by a federal grand jury for his role in the June slaying of his mother.

Federal prosecutors announced the indictment Wednesday of Kenneth D. Broncheau, 48.

Broncheau is accused of shooting and killing his mother, Carol Haskell, on June 21 within the boundaries of the Nez Perce Indian Reservation. Broncheau is being held by Nez Perce Tribal Police and awaiting an appearance in federal court on the charge.

The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and a collection of tribal and local law enforcement.
