N. Idaho man pleads guilty to bank fraud | News

A northern Idaho man who stole two checks from a resident at a nursing home and then forged the resident's name and made the checks payable to his girlfriend for $500 has pleaded guilty to bank fraud and aggravated identity theft.

U.S. Attorney Wendy J. Olson announced that Christopher M. Doyle, 25, of Bonners Ferry made the guilty plea Tuesday.

Doyle's sentencing is set for Feb. 5 in U.S. District Court in Coeur d'Alene.

Bank fraud has a potential sentence of 30 years in prison and a $1 million fine. Aggravated identify theft carries a term of two years in prison and a maximum fine of $250,000.
