Crews are working on their second phase of trail work on the Centennial and Prarie Trails in North Idaho.
They already finished work on all gravel shoulders out to the Washington state line but now its time for asphalt repair.
Starting August 13, the section from Higgens Point to Riverstone Park will be seal coated. There will also be trail patch and repair work on the portion between Interstate 90 and Highway 41 in the same week. The following week, crews will be crack filling and seal coating the same stretch of trail.
Then from August 27 to September 7, the remainder of the Centennial Trail from Highway 41 to the Idaho/Washington state line will be completed.
Riders are asked if they come to a portion of trail having work done to walk around the trail instead of choosing an alternate route. There will also be spotters in front and in back of the construction to remind people to slow down and ride on the shoulders.
