Two pairs of Growlers fly over the Inland Northwest | News

Reports of two pairs of EA-18 Growlers were heard and seen across Eastern Washington and North Idaho. In the five minute span they flew over us, on-the-ground citizens asked the online void, "Did anyone see those jets fly over the South Hill?"

One pair of the aircraft were spotted in Coeur d'Alene around 3:44 p.m. Barely five minutes later, they were spotted in Spokane at 3:48 p.m.

Kim Martin, public affairs officer for Whidbey Island Naval Air Station, says the aircraft belonged to them.

"It was a routine training session. That's a designated military training route part of their flight training curriculum," Martin said.

They flew by too fast for most to take photos, but multiple witnesses saw them. These fly overs happen more than you think.

"Every time they go over that route, it's a new group of students. Kind of like a check mark," Martin added.
