Hayden salon helping Wishing Star boy | Events

Being born without a complete heart hasn't held back four-year-old Steven from enjoying life. The hearts of those in his community are looking to make his life more enjoyable.

GTOS (Go to our Salon), a hair salon in Hayden, ID, is hosting a benefit along with the local Wishing Star Foundation to raise 5000 dollars to send Steven to Disney World at the end of August.

Steven was born with DiGeorge syndrome, a chromosome disorder similar to Down Syndrome. Just three days after Steven was born he had to have heart surgery because he did not have an aortic arch, and was on a ventilator for the first two years of his life due to paralysis of his bottom right diaphragm.

The benefit called "Steven's Wish" will be held August 11th from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at GTOS. According to benefit planners, the event includes: "BBQ, live music, baked cakes, a HUGE raffle and mini services ALL day and Steven will be there from 3-5!"

Tickets for the raffle are 5 dollars and are on sale now. One hundred percent of the benefits proceeds go toward sending Steven to Disney World.
