(Updated 4:15 p.m.) - The fire truck hat at Cherry Hill Park is closed temporary after the inner mesh was damaged sometime between Wednesday evening and Thursday morning.
The damage was reported Thursday morning when a city parks employee founded the damage. It's estimated damage is listed $2,000.
Though the hat is broken, the remainder of the park is open. No information is known regarding any suspects.
City employees added the mesh was accumulating damage, but the main damage happened during this incident.
The park was originally built in 2006 as a dedication to the police officers and firefighters who died during the 9/11 attacks.
