Camp Easton case goes to state Supreme Court | Business

AP Wires: Foes of a proposed land swap that could allow a developer to build lakefront homes at a historic Idaho Boy Scout have taken their case to the state Supreme Court.

The Spokesman-Review reports that Camp Easton Forever has lodged an appeal after a state court judge rejected their bid to halt the Inland Northwest Council of the Boy Scouts of America from proceeding with the exchange.

The Boy Scouts aim to swap 80-year-old Camp Easton for land elsewhere on Lake Coeur d'Alene in northern Idaho, allowing an Arizona developer to erect homes at the 420-acre parcel.

In August, 1st District Judge John Luster reaffirmed his May decision to dismiss the lawsuit filed against the scouting group.

Camp Easton Forever attorney Scott Reed said Wednesday he filed the appeal this week.
