Wallace Zipline Opening Soon | Business
(Updated 4:08 p.m.) - Looking for a new way to get your adrenaline rush this summer? David DeRoos wants to strap you into a harness and send you soaring through the air, hundreds of feet above the ground.
DeRoos and his wife Bonnie are gearing up to open Silver Streak Zipline Tours in Wallace. Silver Streak offers a total of ten different runs, 3 miles of cable in all, spread out over 250 acres.
DeRoos got the idea for for the park on a trip to Central America, where he had the opportunity to try ziplining. He came back home wanting more, and found himself looking around his own property.
"When I'm up here working and I look from one point to the other, I think, 'That would be a great place to put a zip line.'" DeRoos says.
He started doing research, came up with a business plan, and Silver Streak was born.
DeRoos is currently finishing up the process of construction, training, and licensing, so the park is not yet open to the public. To give you a glimpse of what awaits you when the park opens, KXLY was allowed to take our camera for a ride on one of the ziplines. You can click on the video link to see some of the video we shot.
Silver Streak is planning to have their grand opening in June. For more information, you can go to http://www.silverstreakziplinetours.com.
