Dennis Franz joins star-studded cast at Coeur d'Alene Summer Theater | Arts & Culture
Title (Max 100 Characters)
Dennis Franz fans, rejoice! The veteran actor is doing something he hasn't done in years - perform for a live audience - and he's doing it at Coeur d'Alene Summer Theater.
Franz, who's best known for his role as Detective Andy Sipowicz* on NYPD Blue, is joining other famous Coeur d'Alene residents, including Academy Award-winner Patty Duke, Ellen Travolta and Jack Bannon, for a reading of Over the River and Through the Woods. From the CST's press release:
....a hysterically funny play written by Joe DiPietro that has been hailed for its brilliant dialogue and bounty of laughs. In a staged reading of a play, the actors typically are seated on stage and read from scripts, without sets, props, or full costumes.
Over the River tells the story of Nick, a single Italian American guy from New Jersey, whose loving but loony grandparents scheme to foil his plans to move to Washington ("Not the close Washington. The far-away Washington - by California) for a dream job.
The one-night-only performance will celebrate CST's 45th anniversary. For tickets, and more information about this year's schedule, check out cdasummertheater.com.
