Bring The Kids To See The Holiday Lights

Bring The Kids To See The Holiday Lights

It's an embarrassment. In fact, it's a downright shame. I have lived in Spokane for nine years - eight Christmases - and, had never taken a ride on the Coeur d'Alene Resort's Holiday Lights Cruise. Tuesday night, I righted that wrong - and, now, I hope you'll follow my lead and take a ride to the North Pole.

Fire Department is Hosting Food Drive with Santa

Fire Department is Hosting Food Drive with Santa

Don't freak out or anything, but Santa will be in Coeur d'Alene on December 3rd. Mark your calendars because he's partnering with the town's fire fighters at Station #3 for a photo opportunity with local kids.

They're also taking this special holiday opportunity to feed hungry families by featuring a non-perishable food drive. If you bring a donation, you can have your photo taken with Santa for free. Talk about a great idea for self-printed Christmas cards.

Details: Fire Station #3 is located at 1500 N. 15th Street. Santa will only be around on December 3rd from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Marcello the Cat Loves North Idaho Snow

Marcello the Cat Loves North Idaho Snow

Is your cat an outdoor cat? It may be okay hanging out in the backyard chasing squirrels and smelling flowers, but check out this cat in Priest Lake. His name is Marcello and he’s the ultimate outdoor cat. Marcello was photographed with his friend, Richard Bohn, out in Friday’s snow.

The snow kitty is not phased at all by the heavy snow fall while Bohn shovels snow near his Priest Lake cabin. Marcello is embracing the elements like a yeti. He’s braver than most cats who merely sniff the snow and run back inside.

Set during WWII, Christmas time, the show features four fictitious Hollywood stars who put together a string of 1940's hits and Christmas music to entertain "the boys" at the front.  Filled with great holiday music and comedy, the show is reminiscent of the USO shows.

The cast sings some of the best music of the twentieth century, including tributes to The Andrew Sisters, Bing Crosby, Spikes Jones and many more.

The show is being presented by the Coeur d'Alene Summer Theatre at the Coeur d'Alene Resort, 115 South 2nd Street, Coeur d'Alene. The show runs from November 23 to December 25 with performances on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings at 7:30pm with a matinee show on Sundays at 3pm.

Public Meeting to Discuss Hayden Lake's Strahorn Road

Public Meeting to Discuss Hayden Lake's Strahorn Road

Opinions and ideas are needed for an upcoming community meeting to decide what to do with traffic along Strahorn Road. Earlier this year Hayden Lake directed traffic one-way going southbound between Miles Ave. and Hayden Ave.

Press Release: The City of Hayden would like to invite concerned citizens to a Hayden community meeting. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss a response and potential mitigation to address the adverse traffic impacts caused by the City of Hayden Lake’s decision to re-route northbound vehicular travel along Strahorn Road, onto other adjacent transportation routes.

Event Details: The public meeting is being held on November 29th at 6 p.m. at the City of Hayden, located at 8930 N. Government Way.
