Oil Can Henry's Pledges To Fight Breast Cancer

Oil Can Henry's “Make a Change for the Cure” fundraiser kicked off Saturday at their various Spokane locations. Their team will be wearing pink hats and bowties to support the mission to fight breast cancer.

The business is pledging to raise $75,000, all of which will go to Susan G. Komen for the Cure foundation.

Kootenai County Sheriff deputies responded to an explosives call near St. Maries on Thursday evening. 1,000 pounds of explosives were found on a property recently reclaimed by land owner, Verne McIlree. For the past year, McIlree says renters had been squatting on his land without any payment.

It was a quiet evening in Kootenai County when Deputy E. Hedlund started the power shift. Most Kootenai County deputies were responding to an incident in St. Maries. For those who hadn't responded to that situation, they remained in other parts of the County. For almost three hours we explored the northern part of the County responding to civil disputes regarding neighbor's and their neighbor's dogs, cows blocking a free-range road and a residential motion alarm. The cows were never found.

Two-Day North Idaho Musician Benefit Begins Tomorrow

North Idaho musician, Dan Abram, nearly died a few weeks ago from a ruptured appendix that the doctor's didn't catch. A large part of the music community in north Idaho is coming together to put on a benefit concert tomorrow to help him pay his medical bills. It's a two-night benefit featuring ten local bands called Dan-Efit 2011. A suggested donation of $10 will be taken at the door at O'Shay's Irish Pub and Backyard Theater in Coeur d'Alene.

Join The Ride For Cancer Patient Care

Press Release - The 11th Annual Ride for Life motorcycle rally benefiting Cancer Patient Care will take place on July 16, 2011. Bikers will gather at each of thirteen different Ride Hosts, including many area motorcycle shops, to embark upon multiple scenic group rides. Part-way through their ride, many of the groups will gather in Spirit Lake, Idaho, to complete the ride in to Curley's Hauser Junction all together. Once they arrive, they will be treated to a barbecue, music, silent and live auctions, drawings, and prizes.

Inland Northwest Honor Flight is making it's third trip of 2011 this Friday July 15 at 11:55. Vets will be gathering at the Spokane Airport about 10:30 am...they will return Sunday July 17 at 4:20 in the afternoon. INWHF will be making a special presentation on Friday July 15 to the family of Pvt. Herman Sturmer whose remains were recently returned to Spokane. Inland Northwest Honor Flight continues to honor our living World War II vets for their sacrifices and especially those who paid the ultimate price--giving their lives to protect our freedoms.
