Alfalfa Sprouts Sicken 19

Kids in Idaho have an excuse not to eat their vegetables tonight.. at least some of them.

The Idaho State Public Health Department recommends not eating alfalfa sprouts from Evergreen Produce, a grower in Moyie Springs, Idaho. It's investigating 19 Salmonella cases in North Idaho, Eastern Washington, and Western Montana. Six of the people sickened report eating sprouts from Evergreen Produce. The Health Department warns people not to eat sprouts from Evergreen Produce and to get rid of any you might have in your refrigerator.

Local "hams" will join thousands of Amateur Radio operators across North America who will show off their emergency capabilities this weekend.  June 25-26, you have a chance to meet and talk with local hams, and see for yourself what the Amateur Radio Service is all about.  The hams will demonstrate communications via voice, digital circuits, and Morse code.

The Coeur d'Alene neighborhood crime stats are now available online at.  http://www.crimereports.com.  A Facebook press post by the Coeur d'Alene Police Department says the department updates the site daily.   Just plug in your address and you can what type of crimes have been reported in your area recently.  The site says law enforcement agencies use the site to improve community awareness and reduce crime.
